Snow doesn’t stop our members from Weight Pull.
This past weekend at the UKC’s Weight Pull:
Valarie Maloney’s Beardie, Killian, took first place in his division at two trials. Killian then went on to earn the highest percent pulled Veteran in his division for both trials yesterday and then went on to earn his Weight Pull Champion title. Wow, what a weekend!
Sarah Todd’s Malamute, Ernie, showed her girl strength at the weight pull by pulling 497 lbs. at both trials on Saturday and then went on to pull 695 lbs., on Sunday. Super job, Ernie!
Desiree Ramirez’s Swedish Lapphund, Tala, earned her Novice Standard Preferred and Novice Jumpers Preferred in agility on Sunday. Tala is the second Swedish Lapphund to earn any agility title. Way to go, Team Tala!
Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
Our treasurer, Walter Cunningham, and Luigi made the cut in a strong entry of 25 Smooth Dachshunds! So proud of them.
Club member, Melissa Bryant, made a splash at Westminster. Four of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppies she bred were shown and brought home ribbons! Congratulations to Hondo and Tina for earning Select and Medley and Annika for earning an Award of Merit!
Melissa was also in Ring 19 with her Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Macallan. What a weekend!
Club member, Desiree Ramirez’s Swedish Lapphunds, Tala & Kiwi, had a successful weekend at the AKC’s Meet the Breeds in NYC. The dogs did wonderfully, and she and those who were at the booth were told by many that they were a favorite booth.
