Welcome to the York County Kennel Club of Maine Online Entry System.

Please familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations of this OES before making your entry. If you prefer, you can download the Mail In Entry Form.

1. The closing date and time for accepting conformation, obedience, and rally entries:

YCKC Maine will take entries for its AKC events up until the closing hour listed in the YCKC Maine Premium List.
The OES will NOT accept entries after the listed closing time.
A $4.95 administrative fee will be charged for EACH entry in addition to the normal show entry fees.
Entries for other AKC licensed or member club shows will not be taken through the OES.

2. Make sure your payment information is accurate.

If your payment is declined – for any reason – your entries will not be accepted into the show. You will need to resubmit any rejected entries before closing.
Per chapter 11 section 4 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows

“To be acceptable, an entry must: Be submitted with required entry fee.”
“No entry may be accepted unless the Superintendent or Show Secretary, named in the premium list to receive entries, receives such entry: prior to the closing date and hour as published in the premium list”
Your entries made using this OES are not complete and accepted until a valid payment has been authorized by your bank prior to the closing date and time for the events entered. If the entry closing time is reached prior to the receipt of a valid payment, your entries will not be accepted.

3. These entries are subject to any numerical limitations and may be rejected by the show secretary handling the show. Every effort will be made to forward entries to the show secretary in a timely, accurate manner. However, there is a risk and possibility your entries could be delayed. You must understand that this risk is yours and only you can decide whether the convenience is worth the risk. If you choose to use this entry method, York County Kennel Club of Maine, Inc. disclaims any liability for direct, consequential, special or punitive damages, or losses which you may incur as a result of your use of this entry system. In the event of limitations, you should consider submitting your entry directly to the show secretary. In the event your entries are rejected, you will receive a refund for the entry fee only.

4. Once entries have been submitted you cannot retrieve them to change them in any way. If you have submitted an incorrect entry and wish to change the class, you must send a written notificationto the show secretary or you will be listed in the incorrect class.

5. All cancellations, changes, corrections, move-ups, withdrawals, etc., must be done in writing through the show secretary handling the show. Be aware of YCKC Maine’s policy regarding any administrative fees that are charged for handling cancellations. Any such request must include the show name and date, dog’s breed, name and AKC number, owner’s name and address, and any information on what is to be done.

Administrative fees are not refundable for cancelled entries.

6. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Event Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the host Club it is impossible to open or to complete the event, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors, and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors, and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the event before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. 7. Be very careful to proofread what you type into the dog’s entry (i.e., class, name, etc.) as the OES will accept whatever you type and it will become part of your dog’s record in the computer files. You should refer to the actual premium list for classes offered, fee breaks, etc. If you need to have a premium list sent to you contact YCKC Maine.

8. Please refer to the AKC for acceptable dog Titles and Abbreviations that may be used on an entry for an AKC show.

9. Keep records. This system WILL accept duplicate entries (including within a particular transaction). Entry fee refunds are handled through the show secretary according to YCKC Maine’s policy regarding such refunds. Administrative fees will NOT be refunded.

10. You will receive a reference number for your entry when your payment is approved. IMPORTANT – Your entries are not complete nor accepted until you receive this reference number. You must have this reference number in order to verify the status of your entries. An automated email with this reference number along with a summary of the entries made will be generated and sent to the email address you provide.

11. The YCKC Maine online entry system (OES) accepts entries for AKC events in accordance with the latest entry form instructions and Rules Applying to Dog Shows (rules) of the American Kennel Club. From time to time the AKC entry form instructions and rules are subject to change. In the event of a discrepancy between the entry form instructions and rules versus the text within the YCKC Maine online entry system, the AKC entry form instructions and rules will take precedence.

AGREEMENT

I certify that I am the actual owner of the dog, or that I am the duly authorized agent of the actual owner whose name I have entered above. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club in effect at the time of this event, and any additional rules and regulations appearing in the premium list of this event and entry form and any decision made in accord with them. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered is not a hazard to persons or other dogs. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.

Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries,including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other person. I (we) agree that the determination of whether the injury is serious shall be made by the event veterinarian and is binding on me (us).

I (WE) AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE ENTRY, EXHIBITION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT BETWEEN THE AKC AND THE EVENT-GIVING CLUB (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN THIS PREMIUM LIST) AND MYSELF (OURSELVES) OR AS TO THE CONSTRUCTION, INTERPRETATION AND EFFECT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MUST FIRST BE FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, PUBLISHED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES.

By clicking and submitting this entry I (we) certify that the Junior Showman does not now, and will not at any time, act as an agent/handler for pay while continuing to compete in Junior Showmanship.

ERRORS ON ENTRIES

Owners are responsible for errors in making entries, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date.
